Fragment of the story

Acceptance is sometimes difficult.

Through the crises and you heard someone behind says, “this girl has sickle cell” through all the pains, drugs and hospital visits and then in your 20s you are with a white sheet that says SS.

No matter how good things are going, the pain is always there, a pinch, a blow, a bomb. It comes and it goes.

Warriors are who we are, through the late night cries, through the immovable moments, we stand strong.

Our backbones, the families and friends who stood with us, the ones who don’t understand where the pain is but are ready to soothe it, if we say we don’t see you we are lying. We see your efforts, we see how it mentally drain you, we see the social constraints you experienced because of us, we see your finances draining. THANK YOU. Because of the strength you showed us we are stronger.

We have lost soulmates, we have lost jobs, we have lost friendships because they don’t understand.

We don’t blame them, we love them.

We don’t blame them because they don’t know better.

Before I’m gone, ten of you is not with us. We have cheated death, because we live on.

To every warriors,

Today is another day,

Live as much as you can, love deeply, your strength is what keeps you going.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
